RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for a high-performance, ruggedized L1 antenna designed for GPS receivers, manpack, hand-held, and small form factor radio systems. The Southwest Antennas 1027-010 offers key product features including a quadrifilar helical antenna design, excellent axial ratio, compact size, and light weight (1.5 ounces). The 1027-010 has a maximum gain of 1.5dBic and both horizontal and vertical beam width are 140 degrees. These features make the antenna capable of receiving a clear GPS signal even in very congested and noisy RF environments. An integrated 3.42 inch RF coaxial gooseneck allows the GPS antenna to be utilized on tactical radio systems where multiple antenna RF connectors and control knobs are tightly collocated, giving users the ability to position the antenna up and away from areas of mechanical interference and be positioned vertically to face the GPS satellite constellation to ensure accurate GPS position and timing for mission critical applications.
