What made you feature the Knowles ST & SM series MLCC assemblies? How does these products differ from others and what value do they offer?
Knowles – Novacap ST & SM series MLCC capacitor assemblies combine high voltage and high capacitance and are available in C0G and X7R dielectrics. The ST-series (commercial) and SM- series (high reliability) assemblies can be made with up to 5 same sized, stacked chips with various lead configurations to safeguard against thermal and mechanical stresses. Lead options include straight, L-lead, J-lead, L-tab, and J-tab.
Assemblies include voltages from 50V to 500V and capacitances from 10pF to 68uF. The ST series offers the highest capacitance and are 100% tested for DWV, insulation resistance, capacitance and dissipation factor. The SM series is designed and tested for military and industrial applications per of MIL-PRF-49470 (DSCC 87106), Group A. Low ESR and ESL are inherent in the design with capability up to 1MHz and offer far superior performance than either Aluminum or Tantalum electrolytic capacitors.
