The Qorvo ACT43950 is a high voltage DC-DC constant-current (cc) regulator intended for battery and capacitor charging applications. This device has a wide input voltage range of 180V – 400V with fully programmable output setpoints of constant-current targets, along with full-charge and refresh-charge voltages. Employing a Qorvo proprietary hysteretic mode control, the device offers high conversion efficiency and stable charging. Additionally, the regulator provides circuit blocks for over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temp and IC pin open/short errors. Lastly, the ACT43950 simplifies DC-DC conversion ranging from 50W – 500W—compared to traditional solutions using bulky transformers—and the non-isolated solution is available in 5mm x 5mm, 40-pin QFN package.

The complete radar solution from Qorvo
The ACT43950 is used with the ACT43850 and ACT43750 to build the complete radar solution from Qorvo. This solution replaces bulky kW power bricks and removes or reduces the need for an EMI filter. Additionally, the complete radar solution reduces the size and value of storage capacitors by a factor of 100. It has configurable drain voltage of 20V – 55V (up to 20A), auto-Calibration at power up and with I2C command, and fast drain switch below 100ns.
