RFMW, Ltd. announces sales support for a USB controlled, RF, digital step attenuator from Telemakus. The TEA13000-12 is based on an analog circuit driven by a 16-bit ADC providing extremely fine control down to ~0.03dB step size. This fine resolution of the TEA13000-12 is needed for applications requiring cancellation or automatic level control (ALC) functions. Covering a broad bandwidth, the Telemakus TEA13000-12 spans 100MHz to 13GHz with 2dB typical insertion loss and 30dB dynamic range. Not much larger than a standard thumb drive, the TEA13000-12 is the smallest USB controlled DSA on the market and weighs less than an ounce.…

RFMW, Ltd. announces design, sales support and availability of TriQuint Semiconductor’s TAT8804D1H ultra-linear GaAs amplifier MMIC intended for output stage amplification in CATV infrastructure applications where flat gain and low distortion are key considerations. This 12V power doubler features 21dB gain at 1200MHz with a P1dB of 34dBm. The TAT8804D1H high gain allows it to replace two existing competitor’s amplifiers thereby reducing part count, board space and overall BOM cost while reducing power dissipation by up to 30%. TriQuint’s TAT8804D1H comes in a 40-pin, 5x7mm QFN package.

RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for Scintera Networks SC1894 radio frequency power amplifier linearizer (RFPAL). As power amplifiers are driven into saturation they increase in both efficiency and distortion. The SC1894 injects a correction signal at the input of the PA in order to minimize distortion at the output of the PA. The result is higher output power from the PA and increased efficiency. Scintera’s SC1894 closed-loop and adaptive linearizer provides significant advantages in small cell applications over traditional digital predistortion (DPD) solutions or operating the amplifier in back off. Advantages include: reduced overall BOM costs, reduced system…
