RFMW announces design and sales support for multi-throw switch Qorvo. The Qorvo CMD235 is a broadband MMIC SP5T switch in die form covering DC to 18 GHz with low insertion loss of 2.2 dB and high isolation of 30 to 50 dB (depending on port) at 10 GHz. The switch also includes an on board binary decoder circuit which reduces the number of required logic control lines from five to three. The CMD235 operates using voltage control logic lines of 0/-5 V and consumes minimal DC current for multiplexing, signal routing, signal termination and antenna arrays.

Handling a maximum input power of 2 Watts, this SMT filters’ low insertion loss is 1.5 dB max. and boasts 38 dB lower bandpass rejection and 45 upper bandpass rejection. PolyStrata’s revolutionary architecture with wide bandwidth and exceptional filtering performance reduces size and weight from 10x to 100x of traditional mmWave filter technology. Minimal part-to-part variation delivers consistent results in production environments supporting 5G backhaul, satellite communications, RF…
RFMW announces design and sales support for a dual path amplifier from Qorvo. The QPD0010 is an asymmetric, dual-path, discrete GaN on SiC HEMT in a DFN package operating from 2.5 to 2.7 GHz. With 15 dB of gain, this device can deliver an average power of 15 W in a Doherty configuration or a Psat of 50.8 dBm at 2.6 GHz. Operating from a 48V bias, the QPD0010 has applications in 5G massive MIMO, microcell and small cell base stations.
RFMW announces design and sales support for APA Wireless Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCO). The R1424SMUAM12_135 delivers -95 dBc/Hz typical phase noise at 10 KHz offset over its operating range of 1400 to 2400 MHz. VCC is 12 Volts while the tuning voltage range is 1 to 16 V. Typical output power is 10 dBm. Packaged in a standard 0.5 x 0.5 inch castellated SMT, the APA Wireless R1424SMUAM12_135 is a form/fit/function replacement for the EOL Qorvo UMS-2400-A16-G.
RFMW announces design and sales support for surface mount bias-tees from Marki Microwave. The BT-0035SMG-2 bias-tee uses a proprietary wire-wound coil for ultra-broadband, resonance-free operation from 20 MHz to 35 GHz. DC current is 500 mA from a maximum DC voltage of 30V. Optional bypass capacitors can be added near the DC input port to filter noise on the DC line. With 1 Watt power handling, common BT-0035SMG-2 applications include amplifier biasing, diode biasing and DC level shifting. Available in a compact .150” x .220” package.

Beamforming for Satellite Communications Satellite Communications (SatCom) is a vital market that plays a huge role in the global communications ecosystem. It supports a variety of applications, including navigation systems, military, weather monitoring, telecommunications, and more. The SatCom industry has turned to higher-frequency bands to support the ever-increasing demand for bandwidth, such as the X, Ku, K, and Ka bands. In an era where demands for high data rates are ever increasing, there is a need to focus on one of the key sections of the RF front end, , the antenna. Unfortunately, antennas are often overlooked in an RF…
