RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for two S-band power amplifiers from TriQuint. The TGA2583 and TGA2585 cover the frequency range of 2.7 to 3.7GHz with 10 and 18 watts of saturated output power respectively. Both TriQuint devices offer power added efficiency of 54% with a small signal gain of 33dB. Designed primarily for Radar applications, the TGA2583 and TGA2585 use TriQuint 0.25um GaN technology offering good thermal characteristics in either pulse or CW operation. Using a 25V bias, the TGA2583 draws 175mA while the TGA2585 draws 225mA. Both devices are currently available in 3×1.9mm die with 5×5 QFN packaging in development.
