RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for the Qorvo TGA2227, a 2-22GHz low noise amplifier fabricated on Qorvo’s TQGaN15 GaN on SiC process. GaN on SiC offers high input power survivability of 40dBm, potentially eliminating the need for a power limiter in broadband communications, EW, instrumentation or Radar applications. The Qorvo TGA2227 can also be used as a driver with >15dB of small signal gain or a general amplifier with >20dBm P1dB. With a nominal drain voltage of 8V, the TGA2227 can be biased over a wide range of voltages with little impact on noise figure and gain; thus allowing the user to minimize power dissipation depending on system RF power and linearity requirements. Mid-band noise figure is 2dB and Qorvo offers this LNA in a 4x4mm, surface mount package as the TGA2227-SM.
