X-band FEM supports Phased Array Radar

The Qorvo QPM5811, GaAs MMIC front-end module, is designed for 8.5 – 10.5 GHz radar and combines a T/R switch, LNA and PA.

RFMW announces design and sales support for a front-end module (FEM) from Qorvo. The Qorvo QPM5811, GaAs MMIC front-end module, is designed for 8.5 – 10.5 GHz radar and combines a T/R switch, LNA and PA. Receive path performance is 26 dB gain with 2.0 dB noise figure. The transmit path offers 30 dB small signal gain and 23.5 dB of large signal gain with 0.5 W pSat (45 % PAE). A 6 x 6 mm QFN surface mount package with over-mold encapsulant, coupled with high thermal conductivity die-attach process, allows the QPM5811 to perform well in high temperature environments. Its compact size supports tight lattice spacing requirements needed for X-Band phased array radar applications.
