Qorvo recently introduced the QPA0017, a Ku-Band power amplifier in a compact 7.5 x 6 mm SMT package. The device targets the 13.75 to 14.5 GHz satcom band, providing 12.5 Watts of linear power with third-order intermodulation distortion products of 25 dBc. The QPA0017 can deliver up to 25 Watts of saturated output power with 35% power-added efficiency. For small-signal operation, gain is 30 dB. Additionally, the QPA0017 offers an extended operating frequency range of 12.75 to 15.35 GHz, providing coverage for the lower Ku-Band satcom and the Common Data Link (CDL) band. The QPA0017 is fully matched to 50 ohms with DC-grounded I/O ports for optimum ESD performance.
