RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for the SMV1275-079LF hyperabrupt junction varactor diode from Skyworks, Inc. specifically designed for battery operation. The specified high-capacitance ratio and low-series resistance make the SMV1275-079LF appropriate for low phase-noise Voltage-Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) used at frequencies in wireless systems up to and above 2.5 GHz. Applications for Skyworks SMV1275-079LF include low-noise and wideband UHF and VHF VCOs for GSM, PCS, CDMA, and analog phones

RFMW, Ltd. announces the availability of a new White Paper from TriQuint (Qorvo) titled GaN Thermal Analysis for High-Performance Systems. This paper addresses the TriQuint (Qorvo) integrated approach to thermal design that leverages modeling, empirical measurements (including micro-Raman thermography), and finite element analysis (FEA) for high performance microwave GaN HEMT devices and MMICs. This methodology is highly effective and has been empirically validated. By properly addressing FEA boundary condition assumptions and the limitations of infrared microscopy, resulting model calculations are more accurate at both the product and end application level than traditional methods based on lower power density technology.

RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for a 35W GaN power amplifier designed for weather and marine radars in the X-band (9 to 10GHz). TriQuint’s TGA2622-CP offers power added efficiency of >43%. Operating from a 28V supply, it draws only 290mA. The TGA2622-CP offers high power in both pulse and CW operation thanks, in part, to TriQuint’s Cu-base packaging offering superior thermal management. Large signal gain is 27.5dB with small signal gain around 30dB. The TriQuint TGA2622-CP is export controlled (ECCN 3A001.b.2.b.)
RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for the TriQuint TGA2621-SM, a multi-stage GaAs power amplifier for Radar and SatCom applications. The TGA2621-SM offers saturated output power of >30dBm with a small signal gain of over 24dB. Used as a final stage or driver for higher power amplifiers, the TriQuint TGA2621-SM draws 500mA from a 6V supply and offers >23% PAE. Operating over the 16 – 18.5GHz bandwidth, the TGA2621-SM is offered in a 5x5mm surface mount package.
RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for the TGA2627-SM. This 32dBm Psat GaN driver comes packaged as a 5x5mm, air-cavity ceramic QFN providing an SMT advantage over lower performance, DIE based competitors. The push-pull internal configuration provides low harmonic content of <40dBc over the 6 to 12GHz frequency span. Small signal gain is rated at >27dB. Target markets for the TriQuint TGA2627-SM include Radar, EW and communication systems. Using a 25V bias and drawing only 200mA, the TGA2627-SM is compatible with TriQuint’s high power amplifiers, easing the burden of multiple bias supplies.
RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for a 1.25W driver amplifier serving radar, communication and test instrumentation applications from 2.7 to 4GHz. The TriQuint TGA2731-SM contains an integrated attenuator and power detector. Self-biasing circuitry allows operation from a single, 6V supply. The TGA2731-SM’s linear power gain is >24dB. TriQuint offers the TGA2731-SM in a 5x5mm plastic QFN package.
RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for a fully integrated, 50 ohm Digital Variable Gain Amplifier from TriQuint. The TQC9312 combines an amplifier + DSA + amplifier into a module that includes matching circuits, bias chokes, bypass and blocking capacitors making the TQC9312 a drop-in solution requiring no external components. The TriQuint TQC9312’s internal digital step attenuator is a 6-bit, 0.5 LSB device providing 31.5dB of attenuation range. P1dB is greater than 1/2W with 40dB of gain. Running off a 5V bias and drawing 285mA, this TriQuint DVGA is housed in a 6x6mm package.
RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for a 36.5 dBm GaN power amplifier serving 27 – 31GHz applications in SatCom, Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint radios. The TriQuint TGA2594-HM is a hermetic, 7x7mm QFN packaged device with 25dB small signal gain and 35dBc IM3.
