RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for TriQuint’s TGA2216-SM GaN, cascode amplifier operating from 0.1 – 3GHz. The cascode configuration offers exceptional wideband performance as well as supporting 40V operation. The TGA2216-SM is ideally suited to support both radar and communication applications across defense and commercial markets as well as electronic warfare. For saturated power applications, the TGA2216-SM provides 10W of saturated output with greater than 13dB of large signal gain and greater than 40% power-added efficiency. This TriQuint MMIC is fully matched to 50 ohms at both RF ports allowing for simple system integration. Available in a low-cost, surface mount 32 lead 5×5 AIN QFN package, the TGA2216-SM offers a lower BOM count, reduced board space requirements and higher efficiency than other devices of similar performance such as high power transistors.
