3-Stage Power Amplifier IC from RFMW offers 39dB Gain

CML Microcircuits’ CMX902 39dB gain RF power amplifier IC with 60% efficiency from 130 to 700MHzRFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for CML Microcircuits’ CMX902 RF power amplifier IC. Offering greater than 60% efficiency at VHF frequencies, this 3-stage amplifier spans 130 to 700MHz with up to 39dB of RF power gain. Output power at 160MHz with a 4V supply reaches 2.8 watts. At 435MHz, 1.75 watts is available with a 3.3V supply supporting IoT and Smart Meter applications in the ISM band. Other applications include VHF and low-UHF radio such as data module and Marine VHF communications.  The first and second amplifier stages operate in a class-A and class-AB mode respectively The third stage operates in class-C mode for maximum efficiency. Input and output matched circuits are implemented via external components and therefore can be adjusted to obtain maximum power and efficiency at the desired operating frequency. The CMX902 is available in a small footprint 5mm x 5mm low thermal resistance 28-pin WQFN package.
