EuMW 2024 had record attendance this year with more than 5,000 attendees and the most square meters of show space in the history of the show. Qorvo
Qorvo displayed its high-performance SatCom offerings, including the QPF5010 10W transmit/receive module, QPM2101 S-band receive VGA module, QPA0015 8W GaN PA, QPA0016 15W GaN PA, and the QPA1314 55W GaN PA. Qorvo also showcased its Anokiwave line of beamformer ICs, including the AWS-0103 8.5–10.5 GHz Beamformer IC, targeted towards the x-band radar.

Qorvo presented an outstanding portfolio specializing in defense, SATCOM, 5G, and GaN solutions.


Smiths Interconnect
Smiths Interconnect showcased their new Mini-Lock connectors. This design has allowed for high-frequency operation up to 110 GHz. The Mini-Lock connectors are lightweight and compact and offer superior RF performance and high-reliability testing for demanding applications. They can be used with Smiths Interconnect’s High Frequency Cable Assemblies.

Smiths Interconnect also displayed a range of RF filters, including waveguide, coaxial, planar, suspended stripline, and lumped element types. These are available as components or they can be combined with other functionalities where required and appropriate, including ferrite isolators, circulators, and RF couplers.

Marki Microwave
Marki Microwave showed their new MMIC power divider family. They are engineered and tuned for optimal amplitude and phase balance, featuring high isolation. These power dividers can be used for power dividing and combining applications. The 2.5 mm CSP2 package is suited for high element phased array radar for both 2-way and 4-way power splitting that covers 0.4 to 70 GHz.

Marki Microwave also displayed its Prodigy™ Filter Design tool for minimizing engineering time and maintaining low SWaP-C.

Menlo Micro
Menlo Micro showcased a demo of their newest product, the MM5622 Differential Dual DP3T switch. The MM5622 provides a DC-coupled version of Menlo Micro’s industry-leading MM5620 Dual DP3T loopback relay, all while maintaining the same high bandwidth performance and delivering improved RF performance. It supports the high-speed differential signal switching required in PCIe Gen 6, and numerous high-speed SerDes buses to 64Gbps data-rates. Applications including chip testing for smartphones, graphics, and networks processors, as well as microprocessors, accelerator, and high-speed memory products.

The MM5622 Ideal Switch® has a fully integrated loopback, a compact design, an all-in-one testing solution, and 1000× faster switching with 1000× more reliability. The switch’s system-in-package (SiP) solution fully integrates a driver, charge pump, and 12 high performance switch channels, offering significant board footprint reduction for production loopback test solutions.

TTM Technologies
TTM Technologies displayed the XMB0220K1-50100G and XMB0465Z1-50100G. They are low-profile broadband balanced to unbalanced transformers designed for a wide range of applications. They are suitable for test and measurement, telecom, mil-aero, 5G, LTE, and aero radar. The XMB0220K1-50100G covers 0.18–1.9 GHz and is suited for applications like Test and Measurement, while the XMB0465Z1-50100G, covering 0.4–6.5 GHz, is ideal for 5G, LTE, and more, because of its ultra-small size and high integration capability. Both models feature a class-leading Common-Mode Rejection Ratio for efficient signal conversion across various platforms.

TTM Technology supports customers with designer kits and test boards to accelerate the evaluation and design process and offers tape and reel for high-volume production manufacturing.

EuMW Special Showcase: Advanced Packaging Technology

ED2
ED2 displayed their surface-mount package, the ED2-0024, a 65 GHz Broadband Mixer. This impressive device packs a high-performance punch with wideband RF and LO of 20–65 GHz, wideband IF of DC–20 GHz, high L-R isolation of 40 dB typical at 40 GHz, and high input IP3: +20 dBm typical.

Nuvotronics
Nuvotronics PolyStrata® Technology uses 3D air-dielectric circuit board innovations to deliver superior performance with significant size and weight reduction. Their family of game changing, high-performance air cavity packages for MMIC have die sizes ranging from 1mm to 5mm square.
Nuvotronics promoted a selection of filters, including the new PSF19B03S and PSF29B03S surface-mount filters designed for Ka-band satellite communication systems. These high-performance filters have high rejection, low insertion loss of 1–1.2 dB, and small size of only 1.1 mm tall. Similar filters covering only the commercial bands are also available.

Ampleon
Ampleon displayed their market-leading GaN macro power amplifiers, 50V LDMOS Doherty drivers, mMIMO GaN power amplifier modules, and other products for the base station market. The C5H3438N110D is a high-efficiency and wideband Doherty GaN PA final enabling compact B78 mMIMO lineup. The B10H0710N40D is a multiband, highly efficient, compact 50V LDMOS Doherty driver for 40, 60, and 80W sub-1 GHz macro-based stations.

CML Micro
CML Micro presented the newly released CMX90A006. This product is a 2W, 900 MHz ISM-Band Linear Power Amplifier. This two-stage, input matched MMIC PA delivers +32.9 dBm of power at 1 dB compression for use in the 860 to 930 MHz range. It is applicable to license-free bands.

Guerrilla RF
Guerrilla RF showed the GRF6403, a bidirectional, 31.75 dB range DSA that provides precise stepping in 0.25 dB increments. The device supports three unique programming modes, including serial, direct parallel, and latched parallel. In addition, the GRF6403 includes a special Rapid Fire™ selection pin that allows the device to be immediately switched into a pre-defined attenuation state. The GRF6403 can cover the entire 50 MHz to 6 GHz range while maintaining precise and monotonic gain stepping.

Knowles Precision Devices
Knowles Precision Devices presented their 3- and 6-way Power dividers, a series of solder surface mount devices with compact size and monolithic construction. Knowles Precision Devices’ DLI brand of new power dividers can split or combine signals 1:3 or 1:6 with equal power and minimal phase imbalance. These power dividers are small in size with integrated resistors and have a MSL 1 Moisture Sensitivity Level.

Micross Hi-Rel RF Solutions
Micross Hi-Rel RF Solutions presented a selection of high-performance packages optimized for Hi-Rel applications. Micross serves the Aerospace and Defense, Space, Medical, Industrial, and Commercial markets with the most comprehensive range of hi-reliability microelectronics components and services available from one source. The KA107C is a 1.3–3.0 GHz GaAs pHEMT Low Noise Amplifier, and the KT103C is a 20–4000 MHz 7-bit Digital RF Attenuator.

NXP
NXP showcased their latest Airfast 6 discrete mMIMO solution A6G35H075N, their newest GaN Multi-Chip Module A5M37TG240, and the RAPIDRF-36TC. The RAPIDRF-36TC reference design contains their dual-channel 48 V GaN PAs, pre-driver and Rx modules. The RAPIDRF-36TC has NXP’s innovative top-side cooled package (A5M36TG040-TC) with GaN efficiency improvements up to +10 pts. The reference design ranges 3400-3800 MHz at 400 MHz IBW and also contains autobias with GaN sequencing, dual-channel Rx module, and a “Universal” 10 mm circulator.

pSemi
pSemi presented an SP4T for wideband performance. The PE42545 is a HaRP™ technology-enhanced reflective SP4T RF switch die that supports a wide frequency range of 9 kHz to 67 GHz. It delivers low insertion loss, fast switching time and high isolation performance, making this device ideal for test and measurement (T&M), 5G mmWave, microwave backhaul, radar and satellite communication applications.
The PE43508 UltraCMOS® glitch-safe 6-bit digital step-down attenuator has a high frequency range of 0.009 to 55 GHz and low intertion loss of 5.9 dB. The PE42443 high power handling UltraCMOS® SP4T RF switch has an operating frequency of 1.8 to 6 GHz and a low insertion loss of 0.74 dB. The PE42445/PE42446 high isolation UltraCMOS® SP4T RF switches have an operating frequency up to 8.5 GHz.

SiTime
SiTime showed their Endura Low Phase Noise Super-TCXOs. These Super-TCXOs combine low phase noise, tight frequency stability over temperature, and low g-sensitivity in a single 5032 footprint-compatible device. The phase noise of these products is virtually insensitive to vibration compared to up to 20 dBC/Hz jump for quartz, removing the need to derate phase noise to compensate for vibration. The best acceleration sensitivity is 50x better than quartz at 0.01 ppb/g.

Spectrum Control
Spectrum Control displayed their Powerfilm™ Chip Attenuator design kit and Gain Equalizer series. The Gain Equalizers also offer field adjustable and customizable solutions for unparalleled gain leveling, with a Slope (dB) range of 2–45 dB and frequency up to DC–40 GHz.
Also featured in our booth include fixed and programmable attenuators and butler matrices from the Spectrum Control Weinschel brand. Weinschel brand products are ideal for 5G and WiFi 6e/7 test setups including MIMO testing to support mobile devices, computers, gaming and IoT. Download the new Butler Matrix application note here.
