Quantum computing is a rapidly emerging technology that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve complex problems. Complex problems present challenges with complicated variable interaction. Quantum computing is an essential tool in situations where multiple interdependent elements are at work. Quantum computing solutions can be applied to a wide array of complex problems like modeling the behavior of atoms in an individual molecule or optimizing route navigation for a fleet of tankers in a global shipping network. Two fundamental goals of the quantum community revolve around solving problems that were previously unsolvable and streamlining traditional problem-solving techniques. Quantum computing…
RFMW announces design and sales support for a high power GaN transistor from Qorvo. The QPD1028L delivers >750 W of saturated power from 1.2 to 1.4 GHz for military and civilian L-Band radar systems. Efficiency at Psat is 67 to 70% with 17 to 18 dB of gain. The QPD1028L is capable of CW or pulsed operation with 65 volt bias. This input-pre-matched device is housed in an industry standard air cavity package.
RFMW announces design and sales support for MECA Electronics broadband power divider/combiners. The 816-2-4.250-M01 RF power divider offers 16-way, in-phase performance from 0.5 to 8 GHz. Capable of handling up to 30 Watts of average power with an operating temperature of -55 to +85 degrees C, it offers phase and amplitude balance generally seen only in narrow band models. Typical VSWR’s range from 1.25:1 to 1.60:1 with 17dB minimum isolation. Made in the USA, 2-way, 4-way and 8-way power divider/combiners are also available and carry MECA’s industry leading 36 month manufacturing warranty. The broad band nature of these power divider/combiners…
RFMW announces design and sales support for SiTime MEMs resonators. SiTime XCalibur™ active resonators are designed to replace 4-pin SMD crystal resonators in demanding applications such as automotive, industrial, and enterprise equipment. They provide excellent stability over a wide temperature range, greater reliability, reduced BOM, and ease-of-design. With short lead times and the elimination of design issues related to quartz crystal resonators such as cold startup, EMI problems, the need for motional impedance (ESR) and negative resistance testing at every design and layout cycle, these active resonators greatly reduce time-to-market. The need for parallel resonant XTAL tuning capacitors is also…
ED2 Corporation has developed a technology that offers an alternative to electronically steerable antenna arrays that are commonly used in millimeter band 5G applications from base stations to small cells to phones. Depending on the application, a phased array antenna may not offer the system designer optimum performance in terms of efficiency, power consumption and user experience when compared to other antenna solutions available on the market. ED2’s Dielectric Waveguide Antenna (DWA) offers advantages over electronically steerable arrays in that a single DWA can replace a whole array or sub array comprising dozens of electronically steerable patch antennas resulting in…
RFMW announces design and sales support for a variable gain amplifier (VGA) from Qorvo. The QPA1008 is a two-stage variable gain amplifier for S-band applications from 2.7 to 3.8 GHz. It includes a 30 dB analog attenuator and resistively coupled power detector at the output for circuits requiring power monitoring. <20 nS bias switching for quick turn-on/turn-off operation improves system sensitivity in commercial and military radar, communications systems and test & measurement applications.
