RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for two new Peregrine Semiconductor switches. Both the PE42542 and PE42543 are SP4T switches with operating bandwidth of 9kHz to 18GHz. Both switches are capable of handling 10dBm of RF power at 9kHz. Peregrine’s SOI technology offers enhanced robustness with an ESD rating of 3.5 kV HBM, 150V MM and 500V CDM on all pins of the PE42542. DC power consumption for both the PE42542 and PE42543 is 120-microamps from a 2.3 to 5.5V supply, a fraction of competing GaAs switch requirements. Linearity of the PE42542 is specified at 58 dBm IIP3 and 118 dBm IIP2. With a switching time of 3 microseconds and fast settling time of 7 microseconds, gate lag in test-and-measurement equipment is virtually eliminated. For even faster switching requirements, the PE42543 boasts a switching time of 500 ns with settling time of 2 microseconds. Both switches are offered in a RoHS compliant, 29-lead 4×4 mm LGA package.
