RFMW announces design and sales support for a high efficiency amplifier from Qorvo. The QPA9940 power amplifier supports small cells operating in the 2300 to 2400 MHz frequency range with up to 36 dBm P3dB and 34 dB of gain. DPD corrected ACPR is -50 dBc at +28 dBm output power. Drawing 100 mA from a 5 volt supply, the QPA9940 also supports DAS and mMIMO systems. Internally matched to 50 ohms at both input and output, it is offered in a 5×5 mm, SMT package.
RFMW announces availability of the Knowles (Johanson Manufacturing) portfolio of Giga-Trim trimmer capacitors. The portfolio provides a straight forward technique for fine tuning RF and microwave circuits by eliminating time consuming methods of abrasive trimming, cut and try adjustment techniques, and interchange of fixed capacitors. The Knowles 27273 has a capacitance range from 0.6 – 4.5 pF with up to 8 turns and a working voltage of 500 VDC. Giga Trim capacitors withstand the rigors of soldering heat, excessive turning and rough handling. Benefits include a fixed length, increased Q, essentially zero noise and reduced susceptibility to solder flux intrusion…
RFMW announces design and sales support for a GaAs pHEMT low noise amplifier from KCB Solutions. Offered in a 3×3 mm hermetic, surface-mount (SMT) package for harsh environments, the KA107C delivers high linearity in applications including Defense and Satellite. The KA107C provides 20 dB gain, 1.5 dB noise figure and 38 dBm OIP3 from 1.3 to 3.0 GHz for service as a driver amplifier, gain block or IF amplifier. It can be supplied and tested to the equivalent screening requirements of MIL-PRF-38535 Class B and S screening flows. MIL-PRF-38535 equivalent QCI product flows, EEE-INST-002 flows, and/or other specialized testing is…
In the RF component supply chain world, some particular devices develop a very broad-based customer support network and high-volume usage. They tend to remain in production for a very long time, without the need for any longevity support programs. These are typically general-purpose driver devices from well-established RF power transistor suppliers designed into a wide variety of RF applications. They do not depend on any customer or end-use application to support their volumes, and once the parts reach broad, universal acceptance across the entire RF industry, engineers tend to design these well-known drivers into even newer product designs. With very…
RFMW announces design and sales support for a dual-band GaN MMIC amplifier from Qorvo. The QPA0004 power amplifier enables next generation radar systems with reconfigurable RF output delivering 9 Watts of Psat RF power in S-band (3.1 to 3.5 GHz) and 8 Watts in X-band (9 to 11 GHz). Large signal gain is 21 dB (S-band) and 19.0 dB (X-band) from the 7 x 4 mm SMT device operating from a 26 volt bias. Test results show that a dual, S/X-band implementation of the QPA0004 has better performance than individual S and X-band MMICs combined with a SPST switch, a…
RFMW announces design and sales support for a Single-Pole, Double-Throw (SPDT) RF switch from pSemi. With operating range from 100 to 8500 MHz, the PE42424 reflective 50 Ohm SPDT RF switch supports bandwidths up to 6 GHz. Designed for use in high power and high performance WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac applications such as carrier and enterprise Wi-Fi products, the PE42424 provides up to 48 dB port-to-port isolation, 145 nS switching time and can handle 1 Watt of CW power (39 dBm pulsed), all in a compact, 1.5 x 1.5 mm package. IIP2 linearity of 125 dBm guarantees thruput that remains invariant…
RFMW announces availability of the Knowles (DLI) portfolio of broadband SMD filters. The portfolio uses patented ceramic substrate with materials exhibiting excellent temperature stability and high K factors. Combined, these characteristics enable small size with high performance. For example, the B259MC1S is a 24.25 to 27.5 GHz bandpass filter with a typical insertion loss of 2.9 dB. Measuring 5.5 x 2.3 x 1.8 mm, this surface mount filter offers up to 30 dB out-of-band rejection. Catalog devices come complete with integrated shielding and the surface mount versions are designed for use on most RF PWB materials. Evaluation boards are available…
